Fruity Flapjack Recipe

Time: 35 minutes Serves: 12

Ingredients

  • 200g butter or margarine
  • 150g demerara sugar
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup
  • 275g rolled oats
  • 100g sultanas
  • 1tsp cinnamon

Method

  1. Pre heat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius
  2. Grease and line an 8×10 inch baking tin with butter and greaseproof paper
  3. In a pan, melt the butter with the sugar, and add in the golden syrup
  4. Add this mixture to the oats, sultanas and cinnamon and mix well
  5. Spoon this mixture into your baking tin, making sure to press it down evenly with a spoon
  6. Put the tray in the oven for about 25 minutes or until the mixture is golden
  7. Remove from the oven and leave to cool for 10 minutes before cutting into slices

Top tip: why not try adding desiccated coconut for a tropical flavour
